David Morris – MEng (Hons), CEng, MICE, MIStuctE

Summary of Engineering Career
After obtaining an Honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Sheffield University in 1971, David was employed by Walter C Andrews as a Structural Design Engineer.  In 1975 he became a Senior Engineer for C H Dobbie and Partners where he worked until 1984.  During this period with Dobbie, he worked for two years in Libya on major sewerage projects as well as a number of buildings.

Between 1984-88 he worked for Beer & Partners and became an Associate at Bunyan Meyer & Partners in 1990, where he worked on a number of major multi-storey buildings.

In 1994 he became an Associate at White Young Green & Partners and followed this with a short period as Technical Director at BBF Fielding Structural Engineering, before joining Manhire Associates in June 2001.

David has gained experience in the design of all structural elements and has been involved with the management and control of the technical and financial aspects of teams of engineers and draughtsmen.  He has also lead multi-disciplinary teams with the co-ordination of in-house consultants at White Young Green including environmental, mechanical and electrical, drainage, roads and planning supervisory roles.
