ON1 is an attractive mixed use development with canal views centred on the conversion of an existing four storey reinforced concrete building, to which three new floors were added. Aside of the existing building, 2 new towers were built over eleven and thirteen storeys, supported on a double level basement.
Manhire Associates undertook a detailed appraisal of the existing building and assessed settlements and heave and carefully reviewed the temporary works and construction sequencing to control movements. The site is confined with limited locations for tower cranes, and a steel framed superstructure was chosen for speed and to limit crane requirements, as well as cost.
