The site is situated on Marsh Wall, Canary Wharf with views over the Thames towards the City and Canada Tower to the east. The ‘Landmark’ is a development with 4 buildings ranging from 9 storeys to 46 storeys. The buildings provide over 801 residential apartments, together with office, commercial & retail space.
The double level basement is constructed with an external secant piled wall designed to exclude water, and provides parking as well as plant and storage space. The building cores are slender and accelerations under wind loads governed the core design and outrigger walls were designed to mobilize stiffness of the external columns. The outrigger walls were located sympathetically at party wall locations. The buildings are clad in curtain wall and edge slab deflections were are key criterion in the design.
