After obtaining a Masters degree from Imperial College in Concrete Structures and Technology, Tim worked on a range of projects in Ottawa, Canada. After returning from Canada in 1994, he joined Ove Arup & Partners in London. At Arup, he joined the team that completed the Kansai Airport project, and as well as working on several prestigious projects in the UK, also worked on several projects in Japan and Thailand.
In 1997, Tim joined Yolles, where he was instrumental in the rapid expansion of the company in London. At Yolles, he undertook commissions such as the Broadgate West office development, the Canary Riverside residential development and the Citibank tower at Canary Wharf.
In April 1999, Tim established Manhire Associates office in London.
