Planning permission was granted in January 2001 for the 251 bed development next to the Terminal Building. The building is arranged in two wings and is founded on 'Karstic' limestone. Manhire Associates Geo-Environmental team undertook investigations on site to assess risks in the ground, particularly 'swallow' holes or 'di-solution features'. Investigations were sequenced to avoid disruption to the Airport and Manhire Associates worked closely with the Airport team. The Lynxs development, managed by L'Etoile Developments is designed by EPR as project architects with Applied Energy as Mechanical & Electrical engineers & Edmond Shipway as Cost Consultants.      YMCA, MaidStone The YMCA project is a 6-acre residential development, comprising 51 houses and a 37 unit apartment block served by new adoptable highways and drainage networks.  It is centred on a new YMCA sports centre which provides a significant public amenity on the outskirts of Maidstone. The project is under construction.
