Ralph Swallow

Ralph has recently joined as a Director at Manhire Associates, based in the London office. His role involves leading projects, problem solving and providing leadership and direction to staff.

Ralph is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 25 years wide-ranging experience in the industry. He has hands on experience of leading a range of project types from new build mixed use to refurbishments, conversions and restorations, as well as a 7-year period running his own structures practice.

During his career, Ralph has successfully managed the design on numerous new build and refurbishment projects in the residential, commercial and retail sectors. He also holds experience in gaining third party approvals from local authorities and party wall approvals. Ralph is familiar with both traditional methods and contemporary techniques, and with all common procurement routes and roles.

Ralph is involved in preparing bid documents and fee proposals for prospective schemes, as well as feasibility and concept studies leading up to planning and pre-planning consultations. He also takes an interest in the team development and managing the company’s staff resourcing across our multiple offices.

In his spare time Ralph enjoys clocking up a few miles on the bike (unless it’s raining…) or falling off a surfboard (whether raining or not).
