Peter has recently joined Manhire Associates after building up an extensive and varied portfolio of civil and structural engineering experience over 35 years. His career began on near-shore and onshore oil facilities, later moving on to retail warehouses and residential developments. He spent ten years with a specialist aluminium fabricator in both the UK and California, developing a specialist skill in temporary demountable structures, and designed touring stages for many major artists.

Peter spent over ten years as Director at AKTII, initially developing the AKT office in Croydon before moving to the main London office in early 2009. He led the AKT II office in Abu Dhabi for two years, bringing his expertise and experience to a number of projects. In this role, he was responsible for project management, execution and delivery.

Since returning to London, Peter has led a number of complex international projects including Grand Théâtre de Rabat, Morocco and Sberbank Headquarters, Moscow by Zaha Hadid Architects.

In the UK, his projects cover a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education and healthcare. He played a central role in the design and implementation of several blocks within the Athletes’ Village for London 2012, Park House, an iconic mixed-use development on London’s Oxford Street, major school in Bracknell and East London and the groundbreaking new research facilities at the Francis Crick Institute. Peter is responsible for in-house implementation and accreditation of the quality assurance, health and safety and environmental systems. He has served on a number of committees in the UK, America and Europe, has lectured worldwide and has written and published a range of papers and articles as well as a book.

Peter is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
