Manhire Associates have recently been instructed by Black Pearl to develop proposals to assist in the discharge of some of the Planning Conditions for the mixed-use development on Blackfriars Road.

Planning consent was granted in July 2017 for the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a new 111,500m² mixed use development by Wilkinson-Eyre and Brisac Gonzales Architects.

The proposals include a 178.5m high residential tower containing 227 apartments, a 136m tall office building, a 550-bed hotel and affordable housing also.  There is also a range of retail space and a small live music venue around a new public square.

At 53 storeys, the residential tower will be taller than One Blackfriars and one of the key early objectives is to develop foundation proposals that limit ground movements and the impact on adjacent buildings and infra-structure.
